Guatemala Guide
Guatemala City
Arrival
Although the scale of Guatemala City, with its suburbs sprawled across some 25 zones, can seem overwhelming at first glance, the layout is straightforward and the central area is not that large. Like almost all Guatemalan towns, the capital is arranged on a strict grid pattern, with avenidas running north– south and calles east– west. If you arrive laden with luggage, it's not a good idea to take on the bus system, and a taxi is well worth the extra cost.
