Cienfuegos and Villa Clara
Arrival
Astro and Víazul buses drop off passengers at the Terminal de Omnibus Nacionales (
42/29-2113 and 29-2114), on the corner of Carretera Central and Oquendo, in the western limits of the city, from where a taxi to the Parque Vidal will cost between $2CUC and $3CUC. Buses serving provincial destinations, such as Remedios, depart from the Terminal de Omnibus Intermunicipal on the Carretera Central e/ Pichardo y Amparo near the Memorial al Che. Walking to Parque Vidal from the train station (
42/20-2895 or 96), on the Parque de los Mártires, shouldn't take more than ten minutes, or you can jump in one of the horse-drawn carriages or taxis that wait outside. Arriving by car from the west or east, the Carretera Central, which becomes an extension of a street named Marta Abreu, takes you within a few blocks of the Parque Vidal at the very heart of Santa Clara. To drive into the centre, if arriving from the east you should turn off the Carretera Central at Colón, and from the west at Rafael Tristá.
