The Museo Ignacio Agramonte, Also known as the Museo Provincial, boasts has an elegant Art Deco exterior, the unassuming white facade masking its sleek lines and geometric lettering. While there's nothing within to suggest a connection with its namesake, the museum's engaging array of exhibits includes some quality nineteenth-century furniture, most notably a tinajero washstand with a stone basin inset and some fine Sèvres china. Most impressive is the fine art collection, which includes a Victor Manuel García original, Muchacha, and a good example of the Cuban vanguard movement, which introduced modern art in Cuba between 1920 and 1960. You may wish to avoid the dusty cages of stuffed birds and beasts in the natural history room and head instead for the garden where original tinajones sit at the base of the breadfruit trees.
