Getting around

A wide road runs nearly all the way round the island, served by pick-up share-taxis which tend to charge according to how many passengers they have as well as the distance travelled (usually B50–150 per person). You can rent motorbikes and cars on every beach, but the road is notoriously dangerous, with steep hills, sharp, unexpected hairpins and many reckless drivers, so think twice if you're an inexperienced motorcyclist – accidents happen every day and fatalities are all too frequent.
