Friendly if unexciting little PHANG NGA TOWN, beautifully located under looming limestone cliffs edged with palm groves mid-way between Phuket and Krabi, serves mainly as a point from which to organize budget longtail trips around the spectacular karst islands of Ao Phang Nga. It has good, cheap accommodation and useful bus connections, and is small and easy to navigate.
