Singapore Guide
Money
Singapore's currency is the Singapore dollar, written simply as $ (or S$ in this book to distinguish it from other dollars) and divided into 100 cents. Notes are issued in denominations of $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100, with a couple of larger bills, rarely seen; coins come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, and $1. At the time of writing, the exchange rate was around S$1.50 to US$1, S$2.20 to £1.
