2 Capricciosa 2F, Tersa Building, Matsue Station Reasonably priced Italian chain restaurant with good sized portions and a lively atmosphere.

Naniwa 21 Suetsugu-Honmachi 
0852/21-2835 Very popular, classy restaurant perched on the edge of Shinji-ko that serves beautiful kaiseki meals and more modest "ladies" set dinners. It's also one of the best places to try Kyōdo ryōri with prices ranging between ¥4200 and ¥7350, depending on the size.
4 The Pasta Factory 82 Suetsugu-Honmachi You can build your own pasta, salad or hot sandwich at this fun, casual eatery by filling out (English) order forms with a pencil. Price: ¥830
5 Uo-ichi Katahara-chō. On the corner by the Kyobashi bridge over the canal, this is a good place to try some of the Kyōdo ryōri fish dishes. The set menu costs ¥4200, but there are cheaper meals, starting at around ¥1050, which include sashimi and tempura. Friendly service either at the counter or at tables on tatami. 6 Yakumo-an Shiomi Nawate Popular, picturesque restaurant in a former samurai residence, with a central garden, teahouse and carp-filled pond, specializing in soba and udon noodles, including warigo soba. Price: Most dishes under ¥1000 Opening time: Daily until 4.30pm
