Western Honshū

Hiroshima Museum of Art

The Hiroshima Museum of Art specializes in late nineteenth- and twentieth-century French art, including minor works by Monet, Renoir and Matisse. The airy museum with an elegant central dome also has a less enthralling section of modern Western-style Japanese paintings. If you have limited time, skip this and head for some of Hiroshima's better art museums such as the Hiroshima Prefectural Museum of Art and or the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art. Opening time: Daily 9am–5pmPrice: ¥1000
