Awa Odori Kaikan
Five minutes' walk south of the river, at the base of the 280-metre-high MountBizan, is the Awa Odori Kaikan. The complex houses a good giftshop on the ground floor, the ropeway (daily 9am–5.30pm; one way ¥600, return ¥1000) on the fifth floor, and the Hall (¥500), where there are at least three live performances daily of the city's famous Awa Odori dance; audience participation is encouraged. If you plan to do the lot, go for the discount ¥1500 ticket that covers all the attractions. Opening time: Daily 9am–6pm, closed second and fourth Wed of the month
