Shikoku

Arrival

Trains pull in at Tokushima Station, next to the Clement Plaza shopping centre, at the head of Shinmachibashi-dōri, the main thoroughfare. Tokushima's airport ( 088/699-2831, www.tokushima-airport.co.jp ) lies 8km north of the city centre; there are buses from here to Clement Plaza (25 mins; ¥430). Ferries from Wakayama and Kansai International Airport (KIX) arrive at Okinosu port, 3km east of the centre, and 15min by bus from Clement Plaza. There's also a direct bus here from KIX via Awaji-shima (¥4000), and from Maiko, on the Honshū side of the Akashi Kaikyō Ōhashi.
