1 Aoyagi-ke Samurai quarter In the samurai quarter, the Aoyagi-ke has a decent restaurant serving inaniwa udon, long, slippery noodles in a thin soup of mushrooms, onion and bamboo shoots. Opening time: Daily except Mon 10.30am–4pm

The restaurant is twenty minutes' walk from the station in the old merchants' quarter: you'll find it in a borwn kura between the Hirafuku Memorial Art Museum and the river.
