Fukushima Museum
Outside Tsuruga-jō's east gate lies the ultra-modern Fukushima Museum, or Fukushima Kenritsu Hakubutsukan, which covers local history, from mock-ups of Jōmon-period huts (2000 BC) to a charcoal-driven bus from the 1930s. The displays are well presented, with sufficient English for non-Japanese speakers to get the gist of what's going on. Opening time: Tues– Sun 9.30am–4.30pm Price: ¥260
