Around Tokyo

Cosmo Clock 21

Lying between MM21 and Ōsanbashi pier, Shinkō island was reclaimed about a hundred years ago as part of Yokohama's then state-of-the-art port facilities. Its most obvious landmark is the slowly revolving Cosmo Clock 21, one of the world's largest Ferris wheels, with a diameter of 112m. One circuit takes around fifteen minutes, allowing plenty of time to take in the view, which is particularly spectacular at night. Opening time: Mon– Fri 11am–9pm; Sat & Sun 11am–10pm; occasionally closed on Thurs Opening time: ¥700
