From Amausi airport, 16km south on the Kanpur Road, a taxi to the centre of Lucknow costs around Rs350. Lucknow's extremely busy Charbagh railway station (with a computerized reservations office), 4km southwest of the central hub of Hazratganj (Rs25–35 by rickshaw or auto), is itself a remarkable building, with prominent chhatris above the entrance arcade and a roof inspired by chess pieces. Intercity buses pull in at Alambagh Bus Stand, 3km southwest of the station, Rs50 from Hazratganj by auto.
