1 India Tailors High Court Rd, 75m east of the junction with Nai Sarak Despite its small and unprepossessing appearance, this little shop can't be beaten for custom-made suits or Jodhpur riding britches, and counts the maharaja amongst its customers. They can run you up a pair of jodhpurs within 8hr for around Rs4000.
2 Mohanlal Verhomal's (MV) Spice Shop 209-B Kirana Merchant Vegetable Market, west of the clock tower 
www.mvspices.com Lots of spices and unique spice mixes for different types of curry, as well as a range of masala chais.
3 Paradise Obscure Arts Umaid Bhawan Palace Rd. A treasure-trove of superior bric-a-brac, including old tin boxes, enamel signs, silverware, glassware, little brass gods, metal toys, doorknobs and so on.
4 Raju's MG Rd, almost opposite Sojati Gate. Embroidered and bandhani saris and salwar kameez suits: very classy, very colourful, very Rajasthani.
5 Shriganesham Pal Haveli, north of Sardar Market, opposite the eastern arch of the north gate. Wonderful Rajasthani fabrics, old and new, including dhurries, mirrorwork dresses, patchwork bedspreads made from recycled garments, and some sumptuous embroidered coats and dresses.
