Rajasthan
Arrival
Jaipur's railway station lies 1.5km west of the Pink City, close to the main concentration of hotels around the western end of MI Road; state buses from all over Rajasthan and further afield pull in at the Inter-stateBus Terminal on Station Road. Buses arriving from Delhi or Agra skirt the southern side of the city, stopping briefly at Narain Singh Circle, where rickshaw-wallahs frequently board the bus and, with the connivance of the bus driver, announce that it's the end of the line ("bus going to yard"); this is a ploy to get you on to their rickshaws and into a hotel that pays generous commission. The city's modern Sanganer airport, 15km south of the centre, is served by domestic flights from Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Panjim, Hyderabad and Kolkata (Calcutta). An airport bus into town costs around Rs30, a rickshaw Rs150 and a taxi Rs250–300.
