Getting around

Modern Bhubaneswar is too spread out to explore on foot and is best seen by auto- or cycle rickshaw. Sights outside the city, such as Dhauli or the Udaigiri and Khandagiri caves, can be reached by local buses from the old city bus stand near Capital Market, by auto-rickshaw or on one of OTDC's luxury bus tours. Private Ambassador taxis can be arranged through most travel agents and upmarket hotels (Rs900–1200 per day), although far better value are the taxis at the OTDC tourist office.
