Aurangabad's airport, Chikal Thana, lies 10km east of the city. Metered taxis are on hand for the trip into town (around Rs200 to Station Rd East or West), while courtesy minibuses whisk away guests booked into the nearby five-star hotels. The mainline railway station stands on the southwest edge of the city centre, within easy reach of most hotels, and a 2.5-kilometre ride south down Station Road West from the bus stand – the hectic arrival point for all buses.
