Although auto-rickshaws are plentiful and reliable in Ernakulam, expect to pay well over the odds across the water in Mattancherry and Fort Cochin. Kochi's excellent ferry system provides a relaxing way to reach the various parts of town. Bicycles can be rented from many of the hotels and guesthouses in Fort Cochin.
