1 Bombay Indra Bhavan Savaji Rao Rd Comfortable and popular veg restaurant that serves both South and north Indian cuisine and sweets. Its other branch on Dhanavantri Rd is equally, if not more, popular and also has an a/c section.
2 Dynasty Palace Plaza hotel, Sri Harsha Rd Classy ground-floor dining room complemented in evenings by a breezy covered rooftop restaurant with a broad menu, full bar, and pleasant décor.

Le Olive Garden Windflower Spa, Maharanapratap Rd, 3km southeast of town Excellent, reasonably-priced Indian, Chinese and Western dishes served to the sound of falling water and croaking frogs at this jungle hideaway.
4 Parklane Sri Harsha Rd Congenial courtyard restaurant-cum-beer balcony, with moderately priced veg and non-veg (meat sizzlers are a speciality), fake trees and live Indian classical music every evening. The hotel rooftop space is a real stunner, with full bar, pool and fantastic views. Popular with travellers and locals alike.
5 Regency Juice Parlour BN St, just south of KR Hospital Rd Along with the usual juices and snacks, there's a vast selection of fantastic shakes on offer, from lychee to butterscotch (Rs10).
6 The Road Sandesh The Prince Lined with plush booths – several of which are inside faux classic cars – this high-end, American road trip– themed restaurant-cum-disco serves a quality buffet lunch and fine multi-cuisine dinner before plates are cleared and patrons take to the circular wooden dance floor, usually to guest DJs. The kebabs and tandoori specialities are top-notch. Price: Rs300–400 cover on weekends
7 RRR Gandhi Square Superb Andhra canteen with a small but plush a/c room at the back. Gets packed at lunchtimes and at weekends, but well worth the wait for its excellent chicken biriyani, fried fish and set menus served on banana leaves.

Shilpashri Gandhi Square Encircled by leafy potted plants, this rooftop terrace is one of the best spots in the city to enjoy a sun-dipped egg and toast breakfast or a cool evening cocktail. Quality north Indian fare, with particularly tasty tandoori – try the chicken tikka. Plenty of good veg options, too, including lots of dhals.
9 Tiger Trail Royal OrchidMetropole Cool and tranquil courtyard garden with excellent Indian dinners and great Western-style breakfast buffets that include bacon, sausage, omelettes, fresh fruit and croissants (Rs190).
10 Tunes & Tonic Hotel Adhi Manor, Chandragupta Rd With black tables and banquettes, red accents and excellent posters (Hendrix, Doors, Beyonce over the bar), the young, well-travelled Coorgi owner has created Mysore's most stylish lounge. The service and cocktails are excellent.
