Datong's airport is 15km away and served by taxis (¥50).
The train station is on the city's northern edge, at the end of Xinjian Bei Lu, around 2.5km from the centre – city bus #4 runs from here down Da Bei Jie before heading west along Da Xi Jie.
The main Xinnan long-distance bus station is around 5km south of the centre on the #30 bus route to the train station via Xinjian Nan Lu and Xinjian Bei Lu; other possible arrival points include the more central Yantong Xi Lu depot and the tiny north bus station just south of the train station area.
