1 No. 1 Market (Diyi Shichang) Centred around Xinjian Jie running east off Jiefang Lu An interesting place to snack on local seafood and shop around the overstuffed open-fronted stores. Night or day, you can buy all manner of tropical fruits here, along with clothes, boiled sweets by the kilo, kitchen hardware from coconut graters to giant cleavers and woks, and expensive imported toiletries, cigarettes and spirits smuggled in through Vietnam.
