Yuexiu Park is China's biggest urban park, encompassing more than ninety hectares of sports courts, historic monuments, the Municipal Museum, teahouses, and shady groves.
To the north of the porcelain dragons at the main gate are Beixiu Hu and the Garden of Chinese Idiom, where many strange stone and bronze sculptures lurk in the undergrowth, illustrating popular sayings. Head south, and you'll wind up at the much-photographed Five Rams Statue, commemorating the myth of Guangzhou's foundation – at least one of these is definitely not a ram, however.
