Dongbei

Arrival

Shenyang's international airport, the busiest in the northeast, lies 20km south of the city. It's linked to the CAAC office in the centre by an airport bus (¥15), while a taxi into town should cost around ¥100.

Five lines converge on Shenyang's two main train stations. If you've come from Beijing or farther south, you'll arrive first at the South station, the larger and more central one. The newer North station, serving destinations to the north (and the terminus for Beijing trains, which continue here from the South station), is out of the centre; take trolleybus #5 from here to Zhongshan Square and the South station (also served from here by bus #203).

The gleaming, futuristic long-distance bus station (referred to locally as the express-bus station) is near the North station. To get into the centre from here, catch one of the many minibuses plying the route, or take a taxi (¥10).
