The Western Cape
Greyton
GREYTON is a great place to unwind, stroll and potter about in the handful of galleries, antique and tea shops. The town's Dolls' House Museum, at the tourist office, is filled with miniature handmade dolls' houses showing attention to the minutest details, right down to cakes and pastries.
There's no public transport to Greyton. The best route to drive here is the sealed R406 from just west of Caledon; don't attempt the untarred route from Riviersonderend, which will hammer your suspension. The Greyton Tourism Bureau at 29 Main St (Mon– Sat 10am–5pm, Sun 10am–3pm;
028 254 9414,
www.greyton.net ), along the main road as you come into town, has lists of accommodation and rents out bicycles for R15 an hour.
