The nearest airport to Pretoria is OR Tambo International Airport, some 50km away to the southeast from where driver and tour guide Stanford Hlatshwayo ( 
084 857 4967; R270) runs a highly recommended taxi service to the city. The Airport Shuttle ( 0861 748 8853; R270–290) is another option. Alternatively, and probably less expensively, you could arrange with your accommodation to be collected from the airport.
If you're arriving by train you'll alight at Pretoria station, designed by Sir Herbert Baker, to the south of the city centre; intercity buses stop beside the station building. The main point of information for Pretoria is the Tourist Information Centre, in the Old Nederlandsche Bank building on Church Square (Mon– Fri 7.30am–4pm; 012 358 1430).
