Cape Town International Airport lies on the Cape Flats, 22km east of the city centre. The airport is undergoing extensive renovations so if you require a shuttle service you should phone Airport Shuttle ( 
021 462 0272 or 082 360 9956, 
airportshuttle@new.co.za) and book ahead of arrival. The fare from the airport into the city centre is R150 for the first person and R50 for each additional passenger. An alternative is the similarly priced Magic Bus ( 021 505 6300), which must be booked a day ahead; the bus will meet you at the airport and take you anywhere on the peninsula. Metered taxis operated by Touch Down Taxis, the company officially authorized by the airport, rank in reasonable numbers outside both terminals and charge about R180 per person for the trip into the city.
