Amman's many points of arrival are far-flung, and unless you opt for the simplicity of a taxi you'll nearly always have a rather involved onward journey across the city to reach a hotel. However, one thing you can always count on is a generally helpful attitude from bystanders. The worst that might happen to you on your first day in Amman would be an overabundance of offers of help or a slightly inflated taxi fare.
