You don’t have many choices in terms of routes. But what do you want to see – coast or desert? And how many days will you take?

We’re looking to do some diving around Ningaloo. Allowing 17days for whole trip, which includes a few days in Perth/Broome. Trying to work out best way to travel and camp, be it a camper-van or a tent.

Thanks

In 2011 i rented a car and drove Day 1 Perth to Kalbari which to reach you had to turn
off Great West hwy and down to coast –managed
comfortably in a day with early afternoon check in
at YHA but many caravan parks

Day 2 Back to hwy and made Canarvon comfortably for
check in early afternoon at Canarvon Backpackers

Day 3 Left Canarvon to Coral Bay mid morn arrival and
check in Ningaloo Backpackers–stayed for 5 nites

Day 8 Drive back in the direction of Perth thru Canarvon
to Overlander virtualy a large service station and
roadhouse where i turned again to coast ,a place
Denham [Australia,s most westerly point] and the
nearest town to Monkey Mia dolphins –2 nights
at YHA

Day 10 The long drive to Perth –the 1200 or so kilometers
flat and almost dead flat—just put into top and steer
BUT be observant of large road trains [long trucks]

Although Ive been to Perth I haven’t been as far as Broome. Something I find very helpful is to get tourist brochures from travel agents and look through them. See where they stop, the “top” sites etc then adapt your trip to suit yourself and your needs.

If you google Perth to Broome road trip, you’ll get a number of websites. Here’s one www.goway.com/downunder/australia/sel...
