reasonable lodging in Istanbul and honest tour operator

I am a retired teacher about to visit Turkey for the first time. I’d like to stay in Istanbul for about 3 days just to see the main sites, then head out to see more of Turkey. I need a suggestion for a reasonably price lodgiing which is quiet and in the Sultanamet area of Istanbul. I would like to walk to the main sites, so as not waste time.
Can anyone suggest a good, honest tour operator to arrange for a 10 day tour out of Istanbul? and maybe even a personal tour guide for the city of Istanbul?

Hi there,

Our author recommends Ibrahim Pasha (www.ibrahimpasha.com) and Hotel Poem (www.hotelpoem.com) in Sultanahmet; both are within walking distance of the main sights and the latter has some rooms with sea views. I do hope one might suit what you’re looking for.

I’m afraid I can’t personally suggest a good tour operator.

Hope you have a wonderful trip.

No, I’m still in Malaysia. I think I’ll get an organized escorted trip in Turkey. Any suggestions for a reasonable and honest agency? RSVP I arrive in Istanbul on the 5th of April. Not much time left!
