Outer space or bottom of the ocean?
I know they have a hard time managing the trains, let alone spaceships, but it looks like Virgin could offer trips into the deep one day with Virgin Oceanic: www.virginoceanic.com/
So, if you were a millionaire, would you rather go into space or to the bottom of the ocean? And why?
Despite my somewhat irrational fears of the ocean, I’d be a Virgin Oceanic passenger for sure! Mainly because after watching Blue Planet I’m totally intrigued by those weird little glow-in-the-dark creatures that reside down there! In outer space we don’t know if there is life, but we know there are thousands of species we’ve not yet discovered under the sea.
I also don’t trust outer space. Black holes, meteors – it’s just not safe up there!
Definately space! Its just that childhood dream of seeing whats out there! Cant shake that!
Lottie Gross Totally never had that dream – I think it was watching alien horror films that put me off it. No one makes films about evil creatures coming from the sea... Or do they? I've never seen any, anyway! :)
Michael Huxley Godzilla? Creature from the blue lagoon? The merman? The kraken in Clash of the Titans? Sphere? There are loads!!!! I think space adventure may be a boy thing, or just a geek thing with too many reruns of star trek growing up!
Lottie Gross This is true... Perhaps it's best I don't watch these - I'm a self-confessed wimp when it comes to horror films!
Bottom of the ocean with all the weird luminous creatures would be amazing, but it’s got to be space for me. Only if I could go really far away though – out of our solar system, basically on the back of Voyager 1. (A very reasonable demand, I think.) Look how far it’s gone! bit.ly/14yi5nB.
I’m not super excited about either (confined space, possible death etc), but I think I’d go for ocean exploring over “the final frontier”! I think it’s crazy that there’s so much we don’t know about our own planet and what’s lurking beneath the sea…
