The Slaughtered Lamb (www.theslaughteredlambpub.com/) in Clerkenwell has regular live music events in its downstairs room – a great intimate venue complete with a small stage. Upstairs there’s a good selection of beers and real ales, and the fish finger sandwich is spot-on if you’re feeling peckish!
The Glad (www.thegladpub.com/), tucked down an alley behind Borough tube, is fab. There’s just a tiny ‘stage’ area in the downstairs bar, so it’s pretty intimate. Free, too, and always packed.
Is there an area of town you have in mind, Conrad? Are you looking for somewhere central, or would anywhere do?
Dublin Castle, Hope & Anchor, Shacklewell Arms, Lexington, Buffalo Bar, Bull & Gate… I’ve done my time in various venues!
If you’re east, check our new bands at the Macbeth, Shacklewell Arms or Victoria. Shabby, sweaty and lots of fun!
the Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden seems to have live music every hour it is open, the irish jam sessions pack up late afternoon to make way for live rock (and anything else) bands in the evening.
