Great surfing in the UK

Can anyone think of any brilliant surf spots around the UK – but not in the west country? I’m looking for some inspiration for long weekends in 2013…

I’m afraid than most UK surfing spots are in Wales and Cornwall. Good article:

Joss Bay in Kent must be one of the handiest from London. No idea what the surfing’s like but there’s a surf school down there.
