Great British Road Trip…

I’ve got friends over from Canada and Australia at the beginning of July for about a week. We road tripped around mainland Europe last year and this year I want to make it even better!! Would love to drive along the coast (and stay in cheap hostels or on campsites) and it can be England, Wales or Scotland… any ideas?

At that time of year I’d recommend Devon & Cornwall or perhaps the south coast of Wales (Gower Peninsula etc).

Or – taking a punt on the weather – the west coast of Scotland of course. There’s possibly no more beautiful place on earth.

Definitely Dorset – stunning scenery, decent roads, millions of campsites and even in the school holidays if you avoid the really touristy places it’s pretty quiet. The coast paths and beaches make for amazing walking, but it’s worth checking with the National Trust or www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/aboutth... to check for slippages, closures and diversions brought on by wet weather.
