Bright luminous orange! Or maybe that was just the fake tan on the Easyjet flight crew on my last flight over there!
Well, Marrakesh is also known as the Red City, due to the coloured pigment in its walls. The Medina in Chefchaouen, a mountain village in the north of the country, is painted a rich blue throughout. And Fez looks like a mass of powder-white buildings when viewed from the Borj Nord above.
But I’d say orange is the one that sticks in my mind: the colour of the kasbahs and the ksars of the Deep South, and of the Sahara stretching beyond.
