The Fox and Hounds (www.thefoxandhoundspub.co.uk) is the best pub around Clapham Junction for food, and a lovely boozer all round. It’s about a ten minute walk – up Lavender Hill and down Latchmere Road. Not sure about the rugby though. You could also try the Battersea Mess and Music Hall (www.batterseamessandmusichall.com) on Lavender Gardens.
