Best travelling destinations?
Normandy does indeed have a lot to offer. The author of the Normandy chapter of our France book reckons the city of Rouen is unmissable for its medieval atmosphere. Around Rouen there’s Richard the Lionheart’s Château Gaillard, and Claude Monet’s house and garden at Giverny. The hills, valleys and orchards of the Pays d’Auge are wonderful – if you’re a fan of cheese, note that this is also Camembert country! Then there are the world-famous Bayeux Tapestry and Mont St-Michel, plus the region’s array of moving war cemeteries.
Yeah Normandy does sound great to be fair but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder so to speak. What would constitute the ‘best travelling destinations’ would depend massively on your own personality and interests.
