Yellow Cabs
New Yorkers have a love-hate relationship with the city’s taxis, a fast, fierce, yellow fleet of more than 13,000. When you need them, taxis are always there (except, curiously, when it rains). On the other hand, when you don’t need them, taxis are always there. Most of Midtown’s gridlock is from cabs – a honking, belching sea of yellow – and their speeds can make crossing a New York City street a perilous activity.
