Knott’s Berry Farm
The thrill rides at Knott’s Berry Farm, 6km northwest of Disneyland, go some way to restoring antique notions of what amusement parks used to be like. The park was born during the Depression but these days it’s all about the roller coasters: Montezooma’s Revenge is the original one-loop coaster; Supreme Scream is a delightfully terrifying free-fall nose dive; and the Perilous Plunge is a hellish drop at a 75-degree angle.
