A reindeer in Lapland
There is only one animal that truly encapsulates the spirit of Finnish Lapland: the reindeer. For thousands of years this hardy creature has been the lifeblood of Finland’s Sámi people, providing them with food, clothing, shelter and even shamanistic inspiration. At the Inari reindeer farm in remote northern Lapland you can learn all about reindeer husbandry, have a go at feeding the animals and in winter even go on a reindeer safari out across the spectacular frozen wilderness.
