Villa Carolina Townhouse, 201 Roxas Blvd & Bayview Drive, #31, Tambo, Paranaque, Manila, Philippines, --

Overall Rating: 66

We've welcomed world traveller guests from 93 countries since 1986. Your “home away from home" in the Philippines with 24 hour airport service, 10 to 15 minutes, 2-1/2 km to 4km from all 4 manila airport terminals. One week free excess baggage storage for room guests. Home cooked meals served daily! We understand how tough it is to save enough to travel and know from experience how to budget our expenses so offer the lowest and largest choice of 8 room rates near the manila airports.

The Townhouse as a low budget, safe, clean and friendly place to stay in Manila. Now, after continuous improvements and expansion projects their guesthouse provides a warm, family atmosphere where travellers meet, exchange travel stories and enjoy the "magic" energy of world travel in a safe, comfortable setting with 34 unique bedrooms (no 2 rooms the same) with fan cooled and air-conditioned rooms and with private baths and share bathrooms, 29 rooms in the main building & 6 fan cooled budget rooms & newly relocated dormitory with 4 bed spaces in our unit 11 a short 65 meter walk down Bayview Drive. Our first guests were 5 Swedish young men I met in Hong Kong who had met on the trans-Siberian railway and were heading to the Philippines; since then travellers from 93 countries have stayed with us. After a few years, guests had written to Lonely Planet, Jens Peters' Publication and other travel guides recommending our place so over 3000 guests pass through our place each year.

Important Information

2014 Update! Phase 1 & 2 of our renovation have been completed. Now working on Phase 3 with a 4th floor rooftop where guests can enjoy the sunshine and view of Manila Bay maybe even the sunset depending on the new casino hotel development between us and the sea. By June 2014, we begin Phase 4 of our renovation which can be finished in 3+ months . We're hoping that getting rid of all the wood floors and ceilings creating higher concrete ceilings will make our rooms cooler and help eliminate the vermin so common in urban areas with tropical climates. We are very open minded world travellers and love to go travelling ourselves for months at a time and also to hang out at our beach house and resort on Boracay Island. We love the incredible diversity of our townhouse guests coming from all walks of life, from with all levels of education from high school drop outs to university PhDs, being of all races and all religions and of all ages from infants with families to 83+ year olds young enough to keep on loving life and from 93 countries so far, some who have travelled to over 190+ countries in their lifetime to those who landed in the Philippines for the first time, 'brave' enough to leave their hometowns. Recently we have realized this incredible diverse mix of guests is not embraced by some guests who prefer a narrower, like minded, similar age group from similar economic backgrounds as themselves. So if you crave companionship and to be around people more like yourselves our guest house style townhouse may not be 'your cup of tea' so where ever you decide to stay we hope you enjoy your stay in the Philippines to the max and go for it with enthusiasm. We opened the door of our 3 bedroom 2 baths townhouse as a hobby, Jan 1986 after we'd travelled and worked in Asia, Europe & USA for 10 years. We've stayed in bamboo, beach huts, Asian Guesthouses, Spanish Pensionnes, American & European campgrounds, hostels, Korean Yogwans and Japanese Ryokans on shoestring budget. So welcome aboard!
