Dining is, naturally, mostly Mexican. After dark, downtown practically expires; try the university area (UTEP), northwest of downtown. Check the free monthly El Paso Scene (w www.epscene.com) for listings. The gorgeous Plaza Theater downtown hosts big-name acts; Wilco came through in 2009.
