Taxco has some excellent hotels, and when the day-trippers have left the place settles into a calmer mode. There are plenty of inexpensive places near the zócalo, while you’re swamped with choices at the higher end of the scale. Particularly nice are some lovely restored colonial buildings that now serve as comfortable hotels.
