City transport

To get around, local buses depart from either the Miyazaki Eki-mae Bus Centre or from the Miyakō City terminal, south of the river. However, since almost all buses call at stops around the city’s central crossroads, the best thing is to head for this junction (Depāto-mae) and ask which stop you need; the minimum fare is ¥150. The city provides free bikes to reduce the number of cars on the roads. You can pick up a bike at the Wheels outlet (daily 9am–6pm) to the west of the station on Hiroshima-dōri, and at Yotten Plaza (よってんプラザ; daily 11am–6.30pm) on Tachibana-dōri beside the Kensington Hotel. There’s a ¥500 deposit and the first three hours are free – the cost for the rest of the day is ¥200.
