There’s a good range of budget and mid-range hotels, but you’ll struggle to find anything smarter. Several modest restaurants in Bara Bazaar serve traditional Mizo food, which tends to be quite mild. Aizawl’s top restaurant is David’s Kitchen at David’s Clover Hotel, which serves Indian and Chinese dishes, including a succulent mutton rogan josh. Blue Berry in Hotel Ritz is a decent alternative, with a good range of fish and prawn dishes. Mains at both cost Rs75–265.
