We got completely ripped off by this agency for a trip to Halong Bay (1 overnight at boat), a trip to Sapa (2 days, 1 night hotel and 2 overnight train tickets) and overnight train tickets to Hue. For all of the above we got charged between two and three times of what it is worth and trip advisor (where I left detailed description) is full of comments that this agency is a rip off. Yes, it is bad that we got significantly overcharged for the Halong Bay trip (140 dollars for 2 adults sharing one room and the most basic boat which obviously was not described as such to us by the ‘recommended’ travel agency Explorer Tours), the trip to Sapa (280 US dollar for two people sharing/couple) and the train tickets to Hue (100 US dollar for 2 soft sleeper overnight train tickets in a cabin of four). It is not ‘just’ the money it is also the value we got for it, very very basic accommodation/service/food and plenty of misleading and fraudulent information. I’m more than surprised that an agency like this can make it into a guidebook. Could you highlight this on the forum so that at least other travellers are aware of that?
