I am looking for general suggestions on establishing an itinerary for the following countries : Iceland, Finland (maybe Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania as well), most of the Balkans States (except for Greece) as well as Turkey. I am willing to take a few planes if needed. The trip should probably start or end with Iceland as I am coming from North America. Duration of travel will be anywhere from six weeks up to three months, depending on what time is needed to cover the most important or interesting cities and attractions. I have backpacked threw 20 some countries in Europe already, but I have often made the mistake of overbooking and spending too little time in each city. I would like to avoid being constantly in a rush this time. Please keep in mind I am a female traveler and will be doing most of this trip solo. Do not hesitate to voice concerns over regions that should not visited alone. Of course, I am aware that common sense is needed when traveling. Simply looking for any tips or itineraries from people who have backpacked threw those countries already. Cheers!

Hi there, I just wanted to give a few Turkey tips – I don’t know how long you intend to stay there but I’d heartily advise hitting three spots in particular:
1. Istanbul (obviously!), but I’d recommend staying in the buzzy Beyoğlu area rather than Sultanahmet
2. Butterfly Valley (Kelebek Vadisi in Turkish) for beach camping and happy hippy vibes. The spooky abandoned village of Kayaköy/Kaya Köyü is near here too.
3. The “fairy chimneys” of Cappadocia, where you can stay in cave hostels and explore underground cities.
