Holiday to Split area

Hi, I’ve booked some flights to Split for August for our family (three children under 9 years). We thought we’d spend some time in Split but don’t know what to do for the rest of the time? Any recommendations would be really appreciated. Many thanks.

Split is fun city though not exactly aimed squarely at kids. There is a decent beach (Bacvice, pack the Factor 50+ in August!) and you can hire bikes at and head out to the shady Marjan peninsula. There’s also a stuffed frog museum, “Froggyland” (what more could a child ask for!). On the plus side Croatians have an Italian attitude towards kids and you can eat out late with little ones welcome. Overall, though, I’d recommend jumping on a ferry fairly sharpish and heading out to an island such as Supetar which has some great family resorts.
