Help needed in planning a four days in Istanbul and around for last week of September.

Four days in Istanbul is perfect. Obviously you need to get round the main sights (Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Bazaar etc) but I’d do those early on a weekday if possible as they get busy. You’ll need to try some of the amazing food there (Kenan Üsta Ocakbaşi is by far my favourite place for kebabs) and try a hammam out.
Also, make sure you get on the river, and visit Kadiköy – it’s a lot less hectic.
There are a load more ideas here: http://www.roughguides.com/destinations/europe/turkey/istanbul-around/
There are a bunch of decent hostels in the Sultanahmet area.
Istanbul Hostel (http://www.istanbulhostel.net/) was a nice spot when I was there in May 2013, and Orient has probably the best views from its rooftop bar (http://www.orienthostel.com/). Antique and Big Apple are OK too.
