I’m heading to Barcelona for the first time next month. What great places should eat at? Happy to splash out one or two nights.
One of my friends – who works in the restaurant industry and has eaten at more Michelin-star restaurants than anyone I know – rates Cal Pep as his favourite restaurant anywhere. Go! But expect a very long queue.
I was recommended El Xampanyet just down the alley from the Picasso Museum and I was not disappointed! It is a small, bustling bar with friendly staff who were all too happy to recommend dishes to me and my brother. The bar taps encased in ice; numerous objects of curiosity scattered on shelves and photos which adorn the walls painted a fascinating backdrop for us while we ate our meals. It is an establishment popular with tourists and locals alike.
I have lived 6 years in Barcelona and I am a Spanish food enthusiastic. If you want to try really good and affordable tapas, here is the list, do not miss it:
1. IGNICIÓ : calle corsega 244
2. Bar del Pla : Carrer Montcada, 2
3. Tapeo: Carrer de Montcada, 29
4. Bar/café de la Pedrera: Passeig de Gràcia, 92
